After nearly seven years at the helm of our organization, he has developed a keen understanding of regional health issues, and the needs of patients have always been his primary source of motivation. The new Establishment Board of Directors, created with the arrival of Santé Québec, has made room for the 16 foundations affiliated with the CIUSSS de l'Estrie – CHUS by reserving a seat for them.

"I am very grateful to my colleagues from other foundations who have chosen to place their trust in me to represent them. I sincerely believe that, even though our missions differ in some respects, this is a wonderful opportunity to work together and ultimately have a greater impact on healthcare and services for the population. That is our common goal! We know that the challenges are great in the healthcare system and that foundations must continue to play an important role in supporting their institutions. I am confident that the foundations' vision will enrich the discussions with the CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS team."

In a context of transformation of the health network, especially with the arrival of Santé Québec, this appointment comes at a pivotal moment. It will make it possible to make the voice of foundations heard, to defend their realities and to promote better cooperation in the service of the Estrie population.

About the Establishment Board of Directors
The members of the Establishment Boards of Directors are appointed by the Board of Directors of Santé Québec. In each establishment, a Establishment Board of Directors is set up in accordance with article 132 of the Loi sur les services de santé et les services sociaux. Unlike traditional institutional boards of directors, Establishment Boards of Directors have very distinct functions.
Their role is multiple: they act as advisers to the institution's general management and to Santé Québec, ensure a link with communities and partner organizations, ensure the quality of the patient experience, guide educational, research and innovation strategies, and closely monitor the accountability of the institution's various authorities.
