Plant babies Month

Community initiatives

Plant babies month is an initiative launched by Mélanie Grégoire, executive director of Serres St-Élie, to raise funds to support neonatal research and care.

The Plant Baby Month was born following the premature birth of Laurent, the son of Mélanie Grégoire, General Manager of Serres St-Elie, at only 30 weeks old in April 2020.

Laurent and his family spent over two months in the neonatal care department at Fleurimont Hospital. Laurent suffered from several complications after his premature birth, but thanks to research, he was able to be saved and is now living a life without the consequences of being born too quickly.

To help the next babies grow up healthy, Mélanie Grégoire is raising funds through the sale of well-rooted baby plants sold in small pots. Just like little preemies, plant babies just need a little bit of love to grow. All the plants were produced in Quebec.

The purpose of this initiative is to thank the medical teams who took such good care of her and her son.
