Finding your way around Fleurimont Hospital is now easier than ever!
Press releases
Finding your way around Fleurimont Hospital is now easier! Thanks to a new digital wayfinding system, patients and visitors can find their destination more easily and navigate the hospital with greater peace of mind.

Who hasn’t gotten lost in a hospital while heading to a medical appointment or visiting a loved one? With numerous corridors, elevators and wings, it isn’t always easy to find your destination on the first try. To make getting around easier and reduce potential risks, the hospital has implemented a new wayfinding system. Made possible with the support of the CHUS Foundation, this tool also aims to improve the experience of patients and visitors.
After repeatedly observing delays caused by difficulties navigating the hospital, an employee at Fleurimont Hospital suggested exploring different solutions, including a digital wayfinding tool. The idea gained momentum with hospital management.
“We wanted to offer patients and visitors a simple solution that makes getting around easier, reduces the stress of worrying about arriving late for an appointment and allows them to focus on what really matters. This tool complements the essential work of our volunteers, who continue to provide personal assistance on site,” explains Nadia Mathieu, manager responsible for the Pavillon Enfant Soleil and new CHUS Emergency Department project at Fleurimont Hospital.
A Digital Tool That Keeps People at the Heart of the Experience
The hospital ultimately selected interactive kiosks, a solution already in use in several hospitals in the Greater Montreal area.
The project, carried out by Eye-In Media, includes two interactive kiosks installed at the two main entrances (Doors 1 and 3), as well as a network of more than 70 posters equipped with QR codes throughout Fleurimont Hospital. By scanning a QR code with their smartphone, patients and visitors can access directions from their current location to their destination.
“The complexity of a project like this lies in understanding the reality on the ground,” points out Nathalie Azoulay, President and CEO of Eye-In Media. “Beyond the hospital’s floor plans, it is important to walk the corridors, talk with volunteers and observe obstacles that cannot be seen on paper. The goal was not simply to help people find their way; we wanted to provide them with useful reference points and practical information, such as the distance to their destination or the nearest parking area.”

The CHUS Foundation is proud to have provided financial support for this project, which helps make the experience at the CHUS more human, welcoming and reassuring for everyone.
“A hospital visit is rarely an ordinary experience. People often arrive with worries or many concerns on their minds. If this tool can help reduce their stress and make it easier for them to get around, then it will already have a significant impact. At the Foundation, we support both major projects that transform the hospital environment and initiatives that make a tangible difference in the experience of patients and visitors,” says Martin Clermont, Executive Director of the CHUS Foundation.
