Completed Projects

MRI 9.4T
The acquisition of a 9.4T MRI machine represents a significant milestone in the study of type 2 diabetes, and also paves the way for numerous other research projects to develop clinically translatable methods.

New nephrology equipment and diabetic patient support
New nephrology equipment is now available in Estrie: two blood pressure monitors for the outpatient metabolic unit, four pulse oximeters for hemodialysis, a fluorescence microscope, and a syringe pump. This equipment streamlines services, supports the work of medical teams, and allows for better care to be offered to people living with chronic diseases such as diabetes.

Versatile Ultrasound
A versatile ultrasound machine, adaptable to various clinical settings, improves care for obstetric patients and their babies. This device also offers valuable support for teaching within our university hospital.

Diabetic Customer Support
Because foot health is crucial in diabetes management, two projects have been developed to support low-income individuals with diabetes. The Foot Care Program for Low-Income Individuals with Diabetes and the Adapted Footwear project promote physical activity and improve the well-being of low-income individuals with diabetes.

Mobile X-ray machine
A mobile X-ray unit has been acquired to provide rapid access to medical imaging directly at the bedside of hospitalized patients. This equipment addresses the growing needs, particularly in neonatal and pediatric intensive care, and the evolving standards of care. It optimizes interventions while providing a more stable, safe, and humane environment.

Gentle Care
To calm and distract children, and make their emergency room experience more pleasant, staff are equipped with a range of tools, from virtual reality headsets to sensory toys. The Gentle Care program, an initiative by the emergency team at Fleurimont Hospital, aims to reduce children's anxiety and make their care experience more reassuring and humane.
