Défi sportif Japon
The CHUS Foundation Défi Sportif is the perfect opportunity to excel at several levels: it is an ideal project to combine passions and values, surpassing oneself and charity, travel and challenges... Each edition, participants set off on an adventure somewhere in the world with not only a sporting challenge to take on, but also charitable goals.
2024 edition
For its 5th edition, the Défi Sportif intends to bring between 10 and 16 participants to the island of Honshu, Japan. The event will take place in September 2024 for a 14-day trip to the Japanese Alps.
This exclusive sports challenge in the Land of the Rising Sun will introduce you to three magnificent regions on the island of Honshu. Rated as level 2 (moderate), this mountain trekking trip will please with its generally mild climate as well as a particularly pleasant local cuisine experience. The hikes of 4 to 7 hours a day will mainly take place in the mountains. The days that require more sustained effort are interspersed with easier days, with cultural visits or various sports activities. In particular, we will visit Osaka, Kyoto, the Japanese Alps, Mount Fuji and Tokyo!
This is a perfect trip for anyone looking for a first long hike. However, you must be comfortable carrying a medium-sized bag (weight of 8 to 10 kg) during the 6-day trek in the Japanese Alps. The other walking days are in daypack mode.
Price of the trip: $6,500 + the plane ticket (approximately $1,800) *
Each participant must also do a crowdfunding campaign and raise $3,000 in donations for the CHUS Foundation.
