Every day, the CHUS Foundation mobilizes the Estrie community to support the institutions of the CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS, including the Fleurimont Hospital, the Hôtel-Dieu de Sherbrooke and the CHUS Research Center.

Thanks to the donations collected, we finance research projects, let's support medical teams with technological advancements and allow staff to offer more accessible and humane care.

August 24

Creation of the Sherbrooke University Hospital Center Foundation.

1978

June 2nd

Launch of the Sherbrooke University Hospital Foundation by the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Denis Lazure.

1978

September 16

First donation of $75,000 to the Sherbrooke University Hospital Foundation by the Société des Médecins de l'Université de Sherbrooke.

1980

From 1980 to 1985

More than $2 million donated to Fleurimont Hospital by the Fondation du CHUS

1995

July 1st

Merger of the 3 hospitals in Sherbrooke and their foundations — the CHUS, Des Amis de l'Hôtel-Dieu and Saint-Vincent-de-Paul — to create the Fondation du CHUS.

1995

Adoption of a new logo by the Fondation du CHUS, with a butterfly as the main symbol of its identity.

2012

Update of the Fondation du CHUS logo: the butterfly changes from pink to yellow and orange to reflect a more dynamic and warm image.

2018

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Fondation du CHUS with several events, including a historic fundraising campaign involving 40 ambassadors and the launch of the Grand Draw de la Santé Desjardins.

2022

Modernization of the Fondation du CHUS's brand image for the orange butterfly — a symbol of human warmth, optimism, creativity and dynamism — with two inverted hearts, which represent the human side of its mission.
