Pediatric oncology fund
The Pediatric Oncology Fund aims to ensure the sustainability of the care offered to children with cancer who are treated in Sherbrooke.
The objective of this endowment fund is to enable the healthcare team to meet the growing needs in the Eastern Townships and to maintain membership in the global Children's Ongology Group (COG) consortium, which provides access to a multitude of research protocols. The ultimate goal is to offer the best care, adapted for each child, and to advance science for the benefit of all!
Giving hope to grow.

Each year, between 40 and 50 children are diagnosed with cancer in the Eastern Townships and are followed up at the Charles-Bruneau Pediatric Oncology Unit at Fleurimont Hospital.

This is the case of Charlotte who is 11 years old.
She is suffering from type B acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Thanks to the donations received, it is in Sherbrooke, near her family, that she can receive her treatments and all the care she needs to overcome the disease!
Charlotte would love to become a teacher later and enjoy all the things she loves in life! Passionate about fashion, reading, cooking and music, she also enjoys singing and playing video games.
Heartfelt thanks to BRP and its staff!
The Pediatric Oncology Fund, created in collaboration with BRP, was officially launched in November 2025. The first contribution, a sum of $1 million, was offered by the company and its staff. This remarkable support is in addition to the $2 million already paid by BRP and its employees since 2018.
BRP and its staff played a major role in the development of the service offer in the Eastern Townships. Their financial support has made it possible to expand access to treatments for children in the region, the vast majority of whom can now be cared for near their loved ones.
A progression that changes everything for families!
Percentage of children treated in Sherbrooke
Today, 95% of children can receive their treatments in Sherbrooke compared to 25% before 2018, where families had to go to a hospital center in Montreal.
“Donors don't know how much they are changing the daily lives of children fighting the disease day after day. Having access to care close to home makes a big difference in Charlotte's life, but also in ours, her family, in terms of our mental health, our energy and also our finances.”

You too, can give these children hope to grow up.
“The treatment of childhood cancer is based on research that is not funded in other areas. This research therefore depends on generosity and philanthropic donations. Thanks to donors, we can offer young patients in our region direct access to these treatments, close to their families, thus avoiding trips to Montreal or other centers.”
