Before the big day, the players participate in a fitness evening under the supervision of the Sherbrooke Phoenix head coach. On the day of the Challenge, all participants attend a Montreal Canadiens training session before heading to the Bell Center to play the match of a lifetime! Everyone then meets at the Salon des Antiques Canadiens for a cocktail. Dinner and the evening are held in the Canadiens' Superlodge, where participants can also watch a Habs match.

On March 18th, 2025, 32 amateur hockey players from the region took part in the Challenge de hockey | Desjardins, which took place on the ice at the Bell Centre. The event was held in collaboration with the Fondation des Canadiens pour l'Enfance, the Fondation Justin-Lefebvre and the Fonds d'étude pour le Phoenix de Sherbrooke
