The CHUS Foundation supports the strategic directions of the CIUSSS del’Estrie – CHUS* in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the health care and services provided to the population.

By supporting research, prevention, training and humanization of care projects, the Foundation ensures the health of the Estrie region community, from birth to the end of life.

CHUS Foundation is a charitable organization that acts as a privileged partner in the advancement and development ofHôpital Fleurimont,Hôtel-Dieu de Sherbrooke and Centre de recherche du CHUS.

Since its incorporation in 1977, daily efforts have been made to meet the needs for state-of-the-art medical equipment, research, and for implementing and updating new programs to humanize health care.

August 24

Constitution of the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) Foundation by letters patent.

1978

2 juin

Lancement de la Fondation du Centre hospitalier universitaire par Dr Lazure, ministre des Affaires sociales

1978

16 septembre

Premier don fait à la Fondation du Centre hospitalier universitaire par la Société des médecins de la Faculté de médecine de l’Université de Sherbrooke, au montant de 75 000 $

1980

De 1980 à 1985

Durant cette période, la Fondation du Centre hospitalier universitaire a versé plus de 2 millions de dollars à l’Hôpital Fleurimont

1995

1er juillet

Fusion des trois hôpitaux de Sherbrooke et des trois fondations hospitalières qui y sont rattachées.

Les fondations du Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke, Des Amis de l’Hôtel-Dieu et de Saint-Vincent-de-Paul s'unissent afin de constituer une seule entité : la Fondation du CHUS. Les fondations hospitalières de l’Estrie furent les premières fondations à fusionner au Québec.

1995

Pour refléter sa nouvelle identité, la Fondation du CHUS se choisit un nouveau logo, avec un élément graphique qui perdurera : un papillon.

2012

Actualisation du logo de la Fondation : on change le papillon rose pour le papillon jaune et orange.

2018

On fête le 40e anniversaire de la Fondation du CHUS!

2022

L’équipe de la Fondation du CHUS s’agrandit. On y retrouve 17 employés, un record! La Fondation revoit également son image de marque en changeant son site Web et son logo, qui est utilisé depuis 10 ans.

Since 1977, the CHUS Foundation has donated more than $100 million to the CIUSSS de l'Estrie - CHUS.

These funds have enabled the Fleurimont Hospital, Sherbrooke’s Hôtel-Dieu Hospital, and the Centre de recherche du CHUS to make major progress on technological advances, in addition to enabling the achievement of projects in medical research, staff training, and humanization of care.

Honesty and transparency

Each year, the CHUS Foundation produces and makes available its annual report and financial statements in order to share its achievements with the community and report on the financial situation at the end of the fiscal year.
