The Waters-CHUS partnership has been enhanced in an impressive manner with the donation of a Synapt mass spectrometer to the CHUS. This device represents the latest generation in mass spectrometry. With an Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography System, fingerprinting and the study of metabolic profiles of biological fluids from patients with diseases, and a comparison to those of healthy subjects is made possible. It also permits the accurate mass measurement of various products. This donation has led to the founding of the Centre d’expertise en spectrométrie de masse clinique Waters-CHUS. Thus, the CHUS will continue to play a leading role in the field of genetic biochemistry.
