Jean-Luc Mongrain Fund

Jean-Luc Mongrain

Mission

The Jean-Luc Mongrain Fund supports medical research by doctors and researchers in the Étienne-Le Bel Clinical Research Centre. At the Medical Research Excellence Awards Gala, a scholarship is awarded to a researcher who has done outstanding work, providing the recipient with exposure in Quebec and beyond.

Background

The association of Mr. Mongrain with the CHUS Foundation encourages support from involved and influential people living in our region because of his personality, reputation and popularity throughout Quebec. His credibility and identification with the Eastern Townships make him a natural spokesman for all CHUS clientele.

The fund focuses on research in specific areas as determined by the Étienne-Le Bel Clinical Research Centre and Mr. Mongrain himself. A scholarship from the fund is awarded at the Medical Research Excellence Awards Gala to worthy researchers at the centre. The gala is made possible by sponsorship from the Royal Bank of Canada and the Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment. The amount of funds received for holding the gala each year ensures it will continue to be held and bursaries awarded.
