Presented by the Royal Bank, in collaboration with the Fusiliers de Sherbrooke Regiment and the Étienne-Le Bel clinical research centre, the Medical Research Excellence Awards Gala is an opportunity to recognize the excellent work performed in the field of health research that has led to the development of new treatments, not only those in the region but also for people well beyond its boarders.
Once again, the 2009 Gala was a perfect occasion to highlight the excellence of our researchers. Honorary chairman Jean-Luc Mongrain and guest of honour, MNA Monique Gagnon-Tremblay joined us for the awarding of four prizes. The host for the evening was none other than Benoît Johnson. The event proved to be a great success – during the course of the evening the CHUS Foundation’s Jean-Luc Mongrain Fund was the recipient of $60 000!
